The determination of the position of a topic inter alia the other Holy Quran’s topics entails the identification of the issues related thereto and the discovering of their interrelationships. The present article is seeking to identify and display the topical relation network of the Knowledge and practice. The study indicates, through its use of the relevant verses, preparation of the relevant topics’ list and, finally, exhibition of their interrelationships, that knowledge is a function of practice and some deeds like piety, benevolence, faith and others of the like contribute to the accumulation of knowledge and some others like following the passions, wrongdoing, polytheism and others of the like act as barriers to the acquisition of knowledge. This way, the study comes to an elaboration of the position of knowledge and practice in its use of the various topics.

It can be inferred in the first glance at the expression “and we have honored [the offspring of Adam] over a great many [of the creatures] whom we created preferentially. (Q. 17:70)”, that the human beings have been given superiority over some creatures not all of them. There is a discrepancy between the interpreters regarding the meaning of the “preferentially” mentioned in the foresaid expression and considering the concept of the expression “over a great many”; some have interpreted it as meaning “over all [the creatures]” and, in doing so, they have proved the human beings’ superiority to all of the other creatures. Some others have made references to two potential and actual stages for the humans and angels and have accordingly concluded that the angels are potentially superior to the mankind but when it comes to the actual position the human beings outperform them. The abovementioned expression points to the potential rank of the humans and angels and the few of the humans that have been recounted with such an adjective as “superior” are the angels in their potential ranks. Some others have also exemplified the few superiors as the angels like Gabriel, Michael and Seraph not all of the angels. The aforesaid opinions are not laid upon firm foundations. The present study deals with the criticism of the ideas mentioned in this regard to deal with the semantic study of the two terms, i.e. “preference” and “veneration”. There is a difference made between preference and veneration in the Holy Qurʾān’s verses as well as in the Narratives.

In the Holy Qurʾān’s culture and the religious leaders’ way of conduct, trust is expressive of the pure relationship between the man and the God. The relationship has been interpreted and clarified in various forms; inter alia the incorrect perceptions of trust is the one stating that the trust in the God and delegation of one’s affairs to Him take the place of the humans’ effort and discretion. And, that the acceptance of trust in the God renders the effort and activity a secondary consequence thereof. On the contrary, a great many of the Islamic researchers believe that the necessity for trust and reliance in the God is resorting to the natural tools and series of natural causes. The present study that is performed based on a descriptive-analytical method adopts a pervasive approach towards the Islamic texts, including the Holy Qurʾān, Ḥadith and the speeches of the Muslim scholars and theologians to elucidate the nature of trust and its role in the human life as well as its interrelationships with discretion so as to support the second perspective. In this regard, trust is the cordial belief and reliance in the God and being faithful thereto does not entail the denial of the series of natural causes and they are only stripped off of their exertion of independent influences. Thus, trust becomes meaningful with effort and discretion and the acceptance of one does not necessitate the denial of the other. This is the issue the elaboration of which contributes to gaining an accurate insight over the concept in the religious mindset.

The term “iniquity” has been used in the Holy Qurʾān to mean both “darkness” and “putting something in a place other than its right position”. These two meanings are correlated. The absence of the light of knowledge, as the first meaning stated for iniquity, causes a thing to be displaced from its right position. The present writing makes use of a descriptive-analytical method as well as library research to investigate the other words that go together with the term “iniquity” as used in the holy Qurʾān so as to discover the semantic relations between these terms and their roles in rendering the meaning of iniquity coherent. The collocations of iniquity that will be investigated in the present article are justness, blessing, concealment, faith, usury and knowledge. The study will finally lead to a perception in the area of politics and deals with offering a pattern in treating the tyrant enemies.

One important method of research in Holy Qurʾān’s knowledge is the investigation and recognition of the approaches extant in this knowledge. The present writing deals with the recognition and classification of the purview of the approaches in the science of the proportion of Holy Qurʾān’s verses. Based thereon, the approaches adopted in this science are firstly categorized to two sets of traditional and modern and then they will be dealt with; there are seven types of traditional approaches to the science of the proportion of Holy Qurʾān’s verses, including “the singularity of the Sūra’s intention”, the “multiplicity of the Sūra’s intentions” and “the unity and the plurality of the Sūra’s intentions” and the modern approaches are tenfold, including linguistics-based approaches, discourse semantics, literary criticism, interpretational criticism, lines and communicative network, singularity in verses level, study of Sūras and order. The analysis of these approaches indicates that the extension and depth of the present era’s studies have been greatly increased in this knowledge and it can be hoped to have a brilliant future.
